Art colouring book

 LI: To experiment with colours

Today LS2 worked with Room 5 and did art on the Art Colouring Book website . Me and my buddy Keira, painted different pictures as you can see the pictures above my picture i painted was  a woman combing her hair different flowers on her robe from the real picture and something i found interesting was getting advice from my buddy on what colours i should use and how good she liked it . The painting i re created was made from Goyo Hashiguchi and it is about a beautiful woman from japan combing her hair and i re created her robe and the flowers on it , I really liked doing this activity because i got to show my skills and be able to share my skills and art work .

Te Whanau Raukura Performance

LI: To understand the elements behind maori culture .

Today After morning tea  Te Whanau Raukura Performed the Auckland Museum and then show Panmure Bridge School their items they have performed  and told us three elements that they  had bought along  ( Poi, Te rakau , Taiaha )  telling how to use them ,The story behind maori culture . Something i found interesting about the performance was being able to hear the three elements story behind maori culture  and seeing them perform to us what they have learnt and seeing Bekah do four pois and creating the bird behind the 2 dollar coin . After the performance Bekah from Te Whanau Raukura came into LS2 and played Pukana , Pukana is a game played  in maori culture and many others but the rules of how to play Pukana is to make sure whoever starts the game has to be heard and when you say Pukana you always have to Pukana because the game is called Pukana . Something i found interesting was being able to hear other people from other cultures enjoying  playing Pukana and respecting maori culture , we are all thankful for  Te Whanau Raukura  for performing at Panmure Bridge School and telling us the story behind maori culture .

Tech reflection

LI: Learn about the high and low amount of  sugar and if it is good or bad .

Today for Tech Mrs Sharma  showed us that putting a 50 gm of pepsi on top of a bunsen burner can turn into burnt sugar or crystals and made sure we knew  the exact amount of sugar that is in a product . Next Week is our last week doing science with Mrs Sharma so we had to  be creative and explore the food we eat everyday that has sugar in it and tell how much sugar is in that food ,i worked with Afatia and we both came  up with good ideas that we could tell Mrs sharma what food had sugar in them and explain the different meaning that links to the question . We all had a booklet that we cutted and we had to write the food product and amount of sugar and our results we gathered up in the end to find out the Answer to food product and high amount of sugar and food product low amount of sugar so the answer we had was pink lemonade that was the high amount of sugar that equal  29 gm of sugar and weetbix that only had 1.0 gm of sugar . Something that i found interesting was learning about the different type  amount of sugar we eat everyday .

Exploring our national current events

LI:  To identify author’s purpose.

These reasons are to persuade, inform or entertain (PIE). Each day, newspaper editors around the world must make decisions about which stories they will run. We explored the different types of current events that are happening in New Zealand, thought about why the story made the news and plotted the location on a google map.For the current events i collaborated with Karlos and Ong and i enjoyed getting more help from them about how to do places on maps and how it works , something i found interesting was being to actually work well with people i don't really work with and being to have the confidence to share my thinking and knowing how to do Current events on google maps .

Provocation: Should masks be compulsory on NZ public transport?

LI: To identify and consider the two perspectives of this provocation to help me form an opinion.

Today for Reading i worked collaborative with Ellenora and Liletina to make a DLO about should masks be compulsory on NZ public transport yes or no and write something independant what are our opinions . Something i found interesting was being able to share my ideas with my group and that made me really confident about sharing my ideas with others and being to explain how i got the information and what i learnt about the task i got given , I know something that could be useful to help others keep safe is by wearing a mask and stay home if your sick so we could avoid lockdowns and get through covid-19 together .

Poem

LI: To identify the main idea in the poem

For our follow up on reading my task was to write the main idea from the poem called the embarrassment expert and give at least three details  that links to the poem . In my details that links to the poem i wrote the difficult technique you need to use while you in the middle of a situation in  embarrassment and what  you need to do and to imagine the embarrassment as a stop sign then hopefully it'll turn green soon . Something i found interesting about filling the main idea of the poem is understanding the story behind the poem and being able to use the words to make details that links to the poem the reason why i liked understanding the story behind the poem is because i love learning new  words and understanding different meaning behind different stories.

Measurements

LI: To learn about mass and weights

This week we were put into groups for math In these groups we made up names that  represent maths or includes maths names  , our name that we chose for our group  was The multiplying 7’s because we had seven people in our group and we were supposed to multiply our questions we were given . In the multiplying 7’s were Victoria our leader Giovannie,Makaili,Afa,Karlos , Ong  and Lily  , we put all of our opinions together to come with different solutions to solve our challenges and we would have to ask questions if we didn't understand the question or ask for help because no one should have sat in silence because we are a team and we are all  supposed participate so we all can have friendship even though we haven't worked together but we  did make a big difference and we worked as a good team whether we liked  working together or not . Something i learnt about mass and weights was being able to get help on mass and weights and how i can understand it better , It was helpful to me seeing how other people in my group came up with a solution to our question and it made me more confident about maths .
