Addition Challenge
LI: To create a DLO about your thinking of how you got your strategy to the question
Today task for maths were complete a addition or subtraction challenge and complete all of the questions and pick one for a DLO and explain the starthey you use to find the answer to the question . I have made a screencastify explaining my strategy that could be easier to understand for the audience who are reading my work . The reason why i chose this strategy was because it made it clear for me to understand the question and the strategy i used to get the correct numbers for the question . Something i found interesting was using my knowledge that i knew that could help solve the problem to my question .

Measurements
LI: To learn about mass and weights
This week we were put into groups for math In these groups we made up names that represent maths or includes maths names , our name that we chose for our group was The multiplying 7’s because we had seven people in our group and we were supposed to multiply our questions we were given . In the multiplying 7’s were Victoria our leader Giovannie,Makaili,Afa,Karlos , Ong and Lily , we put all of our opinions together to come with different solutions to solve our challenges and we would have to ask questions if we didn't understand the question or ask for help because no one should have sat in silence because we are a team and we are all supposed participate so we all can have friendship even though we haven't worked together but we did make a big difference and we worked as a good team whether we liked working together or not . Something i learnt about mass and weights was being able to get help on mass and weights and how i can understand it better , It was helpful to me seeing how other people in my group came up with a solution to our question and it made me more confident about maths .

Understanding fractions with Mr Fisi'iahi
LI: To learn how to group and split in fractions This week is our last session with Mr Fisiiahi for this term as it was last week.
For this week my group and I worked on fractions and played a game called Play tower of hanoi.
We also used Multi Link cubes to help us understand fractions and to help us solve the questions.
I really enjoyed playing with my partner solving fraction questions.
We also played a game called Dicy numbers which got us into partners.
This game was really fun and competitive as we had to see who was the first one to win.
Understanding fractions helps us understand the groups, twice and the double.
Double means twice as example 6+6=2 or 6 x 2=12.

Do kids spend more time reading than teens
LI: Identify patterns and relationships between data .
Today my group members and I worked with Mr Fisi’iahi, He taught us about statistics and gathering data. We then gathered all the data and turned it into a graph. We also learned about the different types of graphs and which is the best type of graph we should use to represent the data. Mr Fisi’iahi helped us understand the meanings as an example we learned what pre-teens means, Pre teens means 12 and under which means teens means 13 and above. We also used a data card to help us understand more on what our learning is about. Something

Algebraic with Mr Fisi'iahi
LI : To solve and create algebraic equations .
Today my group and I learnt Algebra with Mr Fisi'iahi. We started off by finding out the values of the animals. The animals we did were Piwaiwaka,Gecko,Kiwi,Tuatara and Pukeko. We summed up an answer then we simplified the answers to make it easier to understand and explain what's happening. We created a DLO with our algebraic equations but we had to make the question unbalanced so that Mr Fisi'iahi could make it balanced, we had to create for Mr Fisi'ahi . I really enjoyed working with my partner and my group to answer the questions we’re trying to solve. These tasks and questions help us understand and explain what Algebra is. We also learned how to balance the animals on a log or plan to make it equal and even. Something I learnt today is about how to explain what Algebra is and how to solve the problem by using each other's opinions and put it together to create a solution to our problem . Instead of using the numbers like 1 we learnt how to simplify the number . I worked with Liletina to create a problem solving for Mr Fis'iahi to solve , I enjoyed collaborating with Liletina because i enjoyed using each others opinions to create a DLO by using what we know and what we learnt about using the values what the animal equal.

Connections to problem solving
Today our internet connection wasn't working so LS2 and LS1 challenge was to listen carefully to the simple instructions we were given on how to create an ancient Chinese Tangram puzzels and problem solve . We used one piece of AV paper and we used scissors to cut our paper to create our Tangram puzzel and I and Wairaka from LS1 collaborated together and communicated together to try and problem solve our Tangrams puzzle to make different kind of animals . Me and Wairaka found making animals out of our Tangram puzzle hard until we asked each other for helped and we communicated by asking question by asking why is this puzzle different to each others . I and Wairaka managed to make a cat and a duck out of our Tangram puzzels by asking for each other for help and working together as a team .

Find different strategies/ maths
This week our group practised finding the answer to written maths questions. To do this we needed to first find the numbers we were working with. We decided the most efficient strategy was to use our times table knowledge. Being able to find how many groups of a number made this strategy efficient.
