Te Whanau Raukura Performance

LI: To understand the elements behind maori culture .

Today After morning tea  Te Whanau Raukura Performed the Auckland Museum and then show Panmure Bridge School their items they have performed  and told us three elements that they  had bought along  ( Poi, Te rakau , Taiaha )  telling how to use them ,The story behind maori culture . Something i found interesting about the performance was being able to hear the three elements story behind maori culture  and seeing them perform to us what they have learnt and seeing Bekah do four pois and creating the bird behind the 2 dollar coin . After the performance Bekah from Te Whanau Raukura came into LS2 and played Pukana , Pukana is a game played  in maori culture and many others but the rules of how to play Pukana is to make sure whoever starts the game has to be heard and when you say Pukana you always have to Pukana because the game is called Pukana . Something i found interesting was being able to hear other people from other cultures enjoying  playing Pukana and respecting maori culture , we are all thankful for  Te Whanau Raukura  for performing at Panmure Bridge School and telling us the story behind maori culture .
