A Moment in Time Poem

 LI:To use the language features and structure of published poem to help use write our own poem.

We looked at the language features and structure of a poem called ‘A Moment in Time’ and used our experiences from camp to follow the structure and collaboratively create our own moment in time poem.To describe what we heard, what we saw, how we felt and what we wondered we used our senses, adjectives and adverbs. Adjectives is a word that describes more about a noun. Adverb is something that describes a place or time 

Excellence / Research a leader who has shown excellcence

 LI: Research a New Zealander who has shown excellcence 

This presentation shows a New Zealander I have chosen who has shown Excellence throughout her life . My New Zealander's name is Dame Whina Cooper , a women who has fight for Maori Land her whole life and she never stopped because she knew Maori Land was a place of freedom and harmony . Something I found interesting about rescearching about Dame Whina Cooper is the Excellence she showed to prove that Maori Land is a place for anyone to live in peace and harmony 

Settings

LI: To use powerful words to describe a setting so that it paints a clear picture in the mind of the reader

As the currents of the angelic navy waves washed upon the shore ,it immediately left drenched seaweed and sand marks behind . The uneven path of rocks bunched together making its way to its mysterious destination . As I slowly approach the currents of the ocean the humble and celestial sunset slowly dissolved into the fluffy clouds. I closed my eyes and breathe into the glorious calm salt air and open my eyes and saw a figure of heaven on Earth , it was like a island of blessing . Seeing a breathtaking view was just a graceful moment anyone could of enjoyed.

• A setting is the place, time and environment of a story to help a reader make a connection to your narrative you need to use your words in away that helps them form a picture of what you are describing in their mind.

• To do this we looked at an image and thought of 10 words that described and showed what we could see. Once we had thought of the adjectives or adverbs we used our smart searching skills to help us find synoymns that made our descriptions clearer.

I found this interesting because I got to expercience more about settings and how to use powerful words to make my story more descriptive .

Pulleys

 LI: To use our smart searching skills to find out about pulleys.

We have been learning about simple machines. There are 6 different types of simple machines. This week we learnt about pulleys. Our DLO shows our labelled diagrams of a pulley system. A labelled diagram is an information picture. Pulleys are a way of moving a load or change the direction of force.If the load is large the more pulleys are used.

Cockroaches : Born Surviors

 LI: To understand and summarise the text . 

Did you know that cockroaches have many senses that help them avoid danger

As a group we read and discussed the text, and finding any of our unknown vocabulary. After that we summarized the text, and  discussed with each other any of the facts that we found interesting. We enjoyed working together and discovering more about cockroaches and their survival techniques.

Achieving all my goals / Excellcence

 LI: To achieve all my gaols ive set for the term . 

This is my second task to achieve my excellence about achieving my gaols ive set for the term . The goals ive set for myself this term is blogging all my wokr and completing my work ive been set to finish . Achiveing all these goals was hard to do because I was being to distracted from my surroundings and not being on task . I found achieving all my goals ive set myself managing because Ive learnt not to mix with people who dosent keep me on track and mix with people instead of sticking with the same people . 

Three novels / Excellence

 LI:To read three novels a term 

This was my last task to complete to get my silver excellence badge.

On week four I read three novles. The novels I read was Diary of a Wimpy Kid Wreaking Ball, Goosebumbs slapplys world  and Tom gates 

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Wreaking Ball was about the Heffley family renovates their house and prepares to move to a new neighborhood. In March, Greg goes through his closet for spring cleaning day and reminisces about various objects from his childhood.

Tom gates is a book about his life and about the brillant things he has discovered . 

Goosebumbs , slappys world is about a story of slappy who is a doll who comes to life to tell his own twisted tales and scary tales to the living around him .
